I wanted to share a card, gift wrapping and table setting ideas with you today. We had friends over on the weekend, a little post birthday catch up. I recently bought myself a scoring board and was itching to try it out. So I created the background. I love the textured look. Some pretty paper, ribbon and tag completed the card.
I have tried these feathers before but this time used normal paper. I need to refine this because their potential is great.
And in an attempt to use what is outside to pretty up the dining table I used dried leaves as place cards and the flower from our choc mint cordylines.

I love the scoring on this…(it’s exactly like an embossing folder than I can no longer find)… I don’t have a scoring board, but might have to buy one !! How did you determine where to score? etc.. (I’m very new at this)
I may be like you Nancy umming and rring whether to purchase more tools but I can say a scoring board is so versatile. I initially bought it mainly because I like making rosettes. Makes life so much easier when making them, I know because I made them without one for my little man’s Baptism favours and a friends wedding invite [look up my post – Flashback Fridays – wedding invitations]. But yes wanting to try out my new purchase I made the textured background. It is very easy to score 2 lines side by side then leave say 3 or 4 groves [depending on how wide you want your space to be] and score another 2 etc. Then rotate your paper ninety degrees and repeat the process. You can start with the paper placed diagonally to give you the diamond effect I have created. I have seen many ideas when using the scoring board. Amongst them making ‘milk cartons’ – you could fill them with sweets or cookies or anything really.
