A reminder here why I am doing this, and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th , 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th challenges if you are interested.
This caught my eye because I could use some of the rosemary from our herb garden.
And here is my version which I made it to take to my friend’s house to share over lunch.
This edition of the Better Homes and Garden magazine [July] has an excellent feature on felt craft. I couldn’t pick just one page to capture here so here is a few.
Overlaying felt and stitching inspired me to make a felt embellishment for a baby shower card I wanted to make. Here is the other part [of the gift] of the recent baby shower I attended. I used my Cuttlebug machine to cut the felt with my flower dies. A combination of French knots for the centre with variegated perle cotton, simple stitching with embroidery floss to sew one flower to the other and blanket stitch for the brown/grey background piece. I also added some matching baby pink and baby blue beads to each petal. I secured the embellishment with some double sided tape so that it could be removed. And a simple “boy girl” boy girl border.
That’s a beautiful card!
Thanks so much Sarah – I was happy with the way it turned out.
There’s so much inspiration out there. Great job!
Love your self imposed challenge btw. It’s so easy to get a subscription for something but then not read it properly.
Couldn’t agree with you more Lucie – challenges give you that little push sometimes, and yes inspiration is everywhere.
