On my to do list last week was to make a wedding card and wrap a wedding gift. So I thought I would make a wedding cake as the embellishment, cream coloured textured cardstock, foam tape, little gems and white marker [can you see the dots ‘piped icing‘ linking the gems?]. A bit of white ribbon and a mini tag for the sentiment. I thought the crimson background provided a good contrast to the whites and creams. Plus it was in keeping with the gift colour theme. We got personalised [red embossed print] notecards and envelopes printed for the newly weds from Wisteria Writings.
I have been wanting to try this, something else I found on Pinterest. I thought I would try making the feathers out of vellum. They looked ok but I think sturdy solid paper/cardstock would be better. They are easy to make and the link provides the perfect feather templates. A change from the standard ribbon/bow – a tad classier don’t you think?
The feathers look gorgeous! I love how light they look.
Thank you for stopping by and your comment. You are right, the vellum does add to the beautiful characteristic of feathers, light weight.
