When I was pregnant I didn’t want to find out if it was a boy or a girl, so when I felt I needed to start making something for the baby I picked the colours persimmon, milk chocolate and ecru. I kept seeing ripple afghans on Pinterest. So I thought it was time to give it a go. Ok, so I did start this while pregnant and did finish way after he was born but I am still pretty chuffed at how it turned out and consoled myself I would be happy to use it as a lap blanket when my little man grows to big for it. What colours /colour combinations did you use if you didn’t know the gender of your baby?
What a beautiful blanket! To be honest, I found out as early as possible that I was having a boy, I really didn’t have the patience to wait! I made and bought things in many different colours, I all bright colours for children not just blue for boys and pink for girls 🙂
Thank you. Yes I agree I too am a bright-kind-of-colours-type-of-a-gal. But if you could see what I am making at the moment you wouldn’t believe me ;). Currently the project is all black, the plan is to add a bright colour. Stay tuned.
I will! Sounds interesting!
Beautiful! Maybe the norm….yellow and green. Best wishes, Antonella 😉
Thanks Antonella, yes I think blue and pink are loosing popularity.
Gorgeous colours. My babies were many years ago and the blankets were bright orange or yellow or red – can you imagine?! I had an acquaintance crochet a beautiful crème round shawl – that was amazing.
